MORE VEGAS PICTURES

A LAS VEGAS CHRISTMAS

When we got up on Christmas morning we opened presents and had a great Breakfast that Richard cooked for us. Then the plans were to go to Universal Studios again like Thanksgiving ( because we had such a blast) But of course with the weather lately it was not possible. So as we sat on the couch tyring to decide what we were going to do Richard said, lets go to Vegas. Within 1/2 hour we were in the car on our way. We were able to get a room at The Mandalay Bay in the suite tower, THE hotel

When we showed up and registered the lady says OH the Penthouse Suite. I think I looked at her funny because she re looked at it and says oh we didn't have anymore of the suites you wanted so we are upgrading you to the Penthouse suite. She said it is all the way up on the 61st. floor and is a beautiful room. So I tell the kids sorry guys but they didn't have the room we ordered it is much smaller but it is only 1 night and we can still have a blast!! ( they had no idea what they were about to see)

We walk in to this room. 1850 sq ft. Large, this is what it had.

With a bedroom, living room, family room, dining room, 5 plasma tv's, 2 bathrooms, a Jacques bathtub, (Jacob and Kelsi both enjoyed a long bath) a shower that had a sauna in it, a budae ( how do you spell that??) It was playing beautiful Christmas music through out, You can see the windows in the picture they went through out all the rooms, all the way across what a great view. I have never been in a room like this. When we got home we were all wondering how much this room really costs. We paid $159.00 for the night. It goes from $500-900 depending on the day of the week, per night. Yiks I guess I will never see one again. It was fun though.

EXTRA EXTRA!!

Did you see us on TV Dec 26th ?? When we were in Las Vegas they were asking people what they thought Oprah would be doing after her contract of her show comes due. Richard and I made the cut.



Poor Jacob didn't make the cut but, he sure looks good. It was no surprise that he got it in just 2 takes!!





But I was the only one who got it on my first take.

Christmas Eve with the Missionaries

We had Christmas Eve with the Missionaries again this year!! We had a great time. They came over for dinner. The funny thing is Elder Smith was with us last year as well, which is a very odd thing to happen. Usually an elder would have moved and not been in this area but because of a health issue he had he went home for a few weeks and they sent him back to this area. We had another great year with him. We will miss him next year!! Elder Lial is from Argentina and he was so excited to discover Google Earth. He was able to show us some places in his Country. When he left he said he felt like he had gone home for the holidays. This is his first year away which I hear is the hardest so I am glad he enjoyed himself.

IT IS STILL SNOWING SLIDE SHOW PART 2

It is still snowing!! It started today at 7 a.m. and has not stopped!! I guess it has never snowed like this ever in the Antelope Valley. The last time it snowed even close to this was back in 1995. I just had to post a few more pictures!! The main reason was for my Love Richard!! He is snowed out and can not get home!! He left this morning really early to beat the snow but later today they closed all the passes to get home, he kept on telling me it will stop and I will be home. Well it is now 5:30p.m. and guess what all the passes are still closed!! I love you Richard, sleep well!!

IT'S A SNOW DAY!!!

I can not believe it is snowing and sticking to the ground!! It is so beautiful. This is a new first for me. I have never sat in my own house and watched snow fall!! I just had to share pictures with you all!!

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a really great Thanksgiving. It was a little different than most years but it was really fun. We went to Universal Studios for the day. We didn't take many pictures but here is what we have!! We had a lot of fun taking pictures at the pretend Dodge Stadium. My kids have never been there before and I think the last time I was there was when the hulk first came out. We wont talk about when that was but long enough ago that I can hardly remember it.

Tumble Weed Attach

Well as most of us have had this past week wind storms and rain. We got attached by Tumble weeds. I have no idea how to get rid of this many Tumble weeds. You should have seen Jacob try to get our garbage cans out of the back yard this morning. We live across the street from the dessert ( I have shown pic in the past) But there is nothing to stop the wind, so we get it pretty strong. I just thought this was funny!!!

If you are back to see whats happening thanks for visiting. If you are new welcome and book mark us to come back and check whats happening in our family. I really try hard to update but sometimes there is just nothing going on?? Other times there is a whole lot going on!!

A family update:

Jessica is still working at wiener schnitzel and is now a assiatant manager, she started Jr. collage and taking some general ed classes. She is enjoying being a high school graduate. She is a huge Twilight fan and yes was one of those out there standing in line at 12:00 a.m. to see the first showing.

Benjamin had a slightly hard year this year. He is now staying with my parents in Reno, NV. He has made many new friends. He is now working at Jack in the Box and is enjoying it. He is getting lots of practice with my dad in the kitchen. He likes his new ward at church too.

Jacob is enjoying life. I think he has found a new love of I-flying (pictures to come) he learned how to free fall in a wind tunnel. He just wished he had more time. He is loving his friends here in Lancaster and is just enjoying life. He ran Track last school year and is looking forward to the beginning of a new season.

Kelsi is growing up way to fast. At 11 years old now and very independent. She has finally found the outside world and all the kids she didn't know lived right around the corner from us. Now asking this girl to come inside is a very hard task. She is on her second year of playing the piano and can play a church hymn.

Richard is still enjoying driving a truck. He does more tank driving than box. He works a lot but enjoys it for the most part. He is a simple guy who just loves to hang out with his family.

Debbie Well it has been a busy year. I am still a deli manager. I have traveled a lot with work and I love it. Sometimes it is a lot but very enjoyable. (I don't think Kelsi likes it that much). I am still working on my weight (I think for the rest of my life) I still have 7 more pounds to hit my goal, I wonder if I will ever get there. I just love food way to much!!! I love taking pictures so please come back to the blog and check it out!!

I have never done this before and how easy it was. We went to JcPennys to get our pictures done and for $4.99 they offered for you to get the whole sitting on line!! How great is that!! So I bought my few pictures paid my $4.99 and now I get to share all the pictures with everyone!! The turned out very well. Hope you enjoy them!! We did!!

Halloween night

This has taken me a long time to post!! It is amazing how fast a month can go!! Jacob had his best Halloween ever!! This is him in that gross costume and He got paid (He was very excited about that) to scare people!! The rule was not to scare the little guys but I think he ended up getting a few. We were at Richards Brothers Anthonys house, Anthony is usually the one in the costume so I think he was happy to have someone else do it and watch from the side lines people getting scared. Then people would sit on Jacobs lap and take pictures with him. It was a really fun night!!

Raley's -VS- Winco Foods

Thursday is the big day!! My father and I will be working against each other!! Yes he has gotten a job ( part -time) for Raley's!! He will be working in the produce dept. as a clerk. I am so excited for him, I think he is just as excited. He has been retired for 7 years now. As we all know he is much like myself and does not really like to stand still for to long. As he has ran out of things to do. He has done some service work like adopting a street in Modesto ( I think it was the cleanest street in Modesto while he had adopted it.) He likes to donate to the casinos ( oh they will miss him) And of course lots of Grandpa and father time (which my sister and I really appricate). I love this guy!! He is not only a wonderful father but such a wonderful friend to me!! Have a great day dad!! Good Luck you will do great!!

My Sister Turned 40!!

My OLDER sister turned 40 last week. She wanted to act as if the day would never come. Well I couldn't let her have this big day without everyone finding out and surprising her with a party ( specially since she was doing everything in her power to make sure no one even got her a gift)!!
My parents and I threw her a big fiesta!! I wish I had more pictures but busy in the kitchen I guess the party was over before I knew it. She had no idea which was exciting!!! It was great as family came and friends from work. We had a chocolate fountain which turned out to be a blast and one of the hits of the party ( oh besides reminding her she was turning 40)!! It was really nice to be able to have a great excuss to see my family!! Jessica came along with me and we had a nice couple of days on the road just us girls!!

Cindy welcoming her friends from work!! So much for a quiet dinner with my parents!! She never got moms homemade mac & cheese. Then on her birthday he friends decorated her desk at work!! Oh but she got to have P.F. Changs...

My sister and I have been replaced!!

I was able to go visit my parents this weekend and meet my replacement!! This is one well cared for puppy!! She is a cuties!!! It was hard not to steel her away but they had an eye on me I would have never gotten away with it!!

SHEEPS!!!

I woke up this morning and walked Kelsi out for her to walk to the bus stop, I opened the front door and this is what I saw. Kelsi wasn't sure if they would leave her alone all they had to do is walk across a our street and you would be in our front yard. Later I wish I had my camera but the sheep dog saw one of them trying to cross the street. I have never seen such a serious look on a dog before and it was like a dad tell a child not to do something. Once the dog walked over to the sheep it turned around as if no questions were asked. It was a really neat sight to see there were hundreds of sheep out there. You could here the bell ringing and you could even hear all of them walking and eating it was amazing!!

HOW DO YOU CALL THIS WORK!!

I am not sure how they call this work. We opened a new store in Indio, CA I just love to look down at this pool. I have a view of how beautiful it is. I am staying here for 12 beautiful days!! It is really nice here!! Well only 5 more to go. No matter how beautiful it is it is always nice to go home!!

STANKEY FAMILY REUNION AUG.2008

In Aug. My dads side of the family all traveled to Reno, NV to have a wonderful family reunion. I had never met my Aunt Cleo and my cousins children. We had such a blast. My dads oldest brother Kraig along with his wife ( Aunt Cleo) and his daughter and 2 grandchildren traveled from New York just to come and see us!! My Other Uncle, Mark and his wife Jan came from Seattle and My dads sister Aunt Cindy and husband Mike and their daughter Marlena came from San Jose. My sister and her family live in Reno as well so we had the whole family there!!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AUG.2008

Wow the first day of school already!! Jacob is already in 10th and Kelsi is in 6th grade. The summers sure seem to go buy faster than you know it. Even the kids thought it went by fast!!

Bounce House June,2008

Kelsi, Richard and I went to a bounce house for our nephews birthday party and what a blast it was. kelsi is going to post the pictures of her on her blog so I didn't put any of her but Richard and I raced through a few mazes!! I say I won but that would be cheating!! In all fairness he won!! How is that I work out 3- 5 times a week and he wins!! I guess life is not fair!!

Jessica Graduates High School May 31,2008

Jessica graduated from High School On May 31. The Ceremony was wonderful the speakers we really good and interesting. My parents drove to see her walk the stage and we were able to spend a wonderful weekend with each other!! We are very proud of our Little Girl. She has plans to do her general ed at the JC. We will see what happens after that!!

Benjamin Turns 17!!

He wanted a funny cake so this is what he got!! He wore that Burger king hat all day long at school!! I am still not sure where he came from but we love him!! We went to Chili's ( his choice) and came home for presents and cake!! ( I cheated I had to eat a piece). He said he had a great day!! He also got enough money to fix his bike, a gutar stand with a book on playing!!
