I made a volcano in junior high for my science project. My teacher got me all the chemicals needed for a really spectacular volcanic eruption and "lava" (We took it a step above vineger and baking soda.) I was SO COOL! One problem.... I inserted a plastic lid in the volcano opening instead of a metal one and I didn't know that was important info to tell my teacher. The eruption went off fine... and then the plastic lid caught on fire... and the volcano. The school fire alarm went off and the entire wing was evacuated to the quad, and the classroom stunk for awhile. As the kid says in The Incredibles, "That was totally WICKED!" I can't wait to build a volcano with my kids!!!! :)
